to those who are eligible and uninsured through volunteer ophthalmologists.This program provides:- Eye examsServices that are beyond the scope of EyeCare America and are not covered include any additional services necessary for your care such as, hospitals, surgical facilities, anesthesiologists and medications. The ophthalmologist is a volunteer who agrees to provide only services within these program guidelines.EyeCare America provides medical eye care, only and the program does not provide eyeglass prescriptions or cover the cost of glasses. If you are concerned about the cost of these items, please discuss this with the doctor before the examination.If you were eligible for service and require a re-referral to another ophthalmologist, you or the EyeCare America volunteer ophthalmologist must contact EyeCare America in order to continue receiving care through the program. They may be able to locate another EyeCare America volunteer to provide the care.
