What does “checked” mean?

A listing counts as checked when one of three things happened in the last 90 days. Strongest first: the organization itself confirmed it; a neighbor called or visited and found the listing was right; or we re-read the organization’s own website and updated what had changed. A website re-read is weaker than a person calling, so each listing says which kind of check it got. Today most checks are website re-reads, and only a few listings have been checked by a person.
