ATL Care is open
ATL Care is a free guide to the places in Atlanta that help people. It opened this fall with more than 3,800 organizations and the 24,000 programs they run. You will find food pantries, shelters, clinics and legal aid in it. You will also find tenant unions, mutual aid groups, art classes, libraries and neighborhood associations.
Atlanta has always had a lot of people doing this work. What has been missing is one place to find them. That is what we are building, and we would like your help keeping it right.
If you need help today
Open atlcare.org and tap I need help now. Say or type what is going on, or tap a picture. You get one place to call first, when to go, and what to bring. It works in English and Spanish. You do not need an account.
If you are looking for something
Search in your own words: "help with rent", "tenant union", "pottery classes". Or browse by category. Each category opens into smaller shelves, so Community & Civic Life leads to mutual aid, neighborhood groups, voting and libraries.
Every listing shows when it was last checked. We keep going back to each organization's own website and update what changed. A listing nobody has checked yet says so, and tells you to call first.
If you help other people
Case managers, clergy, teachers, family: you can save the places that fit each person and print a one-page handout in English and Spanish, or share it by a link. Look for For helpers in the menu.
Four ways to make the guide better
- Say whether it worked. After you call or visit a place, open its page and tap "I used this place".
- Claim your organization. If you run a group that is listed, claim the listing and fix what is wrong.
- Tell us who is missing. Send us any group we do not have. A person reads every one.
- Pass it on. Send atlcare.org to one person who gets asked "do you know anyone who helps with this?"
The guide is free and will stay free.
