ASL classes and family resourcesService

AASD works with the Georgia Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which offers a variety of ASL classes. AASD also shares a list of online ASL learning resources for families.

Athletics, clubs, and tutoringProgram

AASD students can join Panthers sports teams, clubs, leadership groups, after-school programs, and tutoring. Clubs run during the school day, and some after-school activities run during the school year.

Bilingual ASL and English educationProgram

AASD uses American Sign Language and English for instruction and individualized language planning.

Career, Technical, Agriculture EducationProgram

AASD offers career and technical classes. The Nutrition and Food Science pathway covers nutrition, money skills, child development, and career readiness with cooking labs and projects. Students can take a food handler course at the end.

Elementary, middle and high schoolProgram

Full-day public school for deaf and hard of hearing students using American Sign Language and English.

Mental health and crisis resources for familiesService

AASD shares a list of outside mental health and crisis help for deaf and hard of hearing students and their families. It includes a crisis text line with Deaf counselors, a 24-hour Georgia crisis line, and counseling referrals.

Preschool and Pre-KProgram

Early learning in ASL and English for young deaf and hard of hearing children.

School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) StudentsService

A free state day school for deaf and hard of hearing students from preschool through 12th grade. Classes use American Sign Language and English, and students can stay until they turn 22.
