A list of outside groups for cancer patients and families, such as financial help, home care, support groups and legal help. Many are in Houston and others are national. CanCare does not endorse them.

Healthcare ReferralsService

Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers can refer a patient or client to CanCare for emotional support. The form asks for details so CanCare can make a good match.

Hospital Visitation ServicesService

CanCare volunteers visit patients and caregivers in person at partner hospitals and treatment centers in Houston, Texas. The visits are for people who are getting medical treatment at that time.

One-on-One Cancer SupportService

CanCare matches you with a trained volunteer who is a cancer survivor or caregiver. You talk mostly by phone, text or email. Loved ones can be matched too.

Prayer RequestsService

You can send CanCare a prayer request through its Prayer Request page or by email.

Spanish One-on-One SupportService

The CanCare website has a link for Spanish speakers. The pages we read do not describe what Spanish support includes.

Volunteer with CanCareProgram

Cancer survivors and people who have cared for someone with cancer can volunteer. They can give one-on-one support from home, help lead online groups, or visit patients in Houston hospitals. Volunteers apply, are interviewed, and then take online training.
