Call or text 988 to reach crisis help for mental health, substance use, or developmental disability problems. It is open all day and every day. It can also connect you to outpatient providers near you.

Addiction Recovery Support CentersProgram

These are peer-led community programs that give non-clinical support and activities for people and families recovering from substance use. DBHDD has an online map to find them.

Behavioral Health Crisis CentersProgram

Behavioral Health Crisis Centers are one of the two kinds of places Georgia names as emergency drop-off centers for a behavioral health crisis. The crisis line sends you to one with space. A new one opened in Augusta in 2026.

Constituent ServicesService

DBHDD's Office of Constituent Services answers questions, takes complaints and compliments, and helps people get to DBHDD services. You can call, submit an online request, or mail or fax a form.

Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs)Program

Crisis Stabilization Units are the other kind of emergency drop-off center Georgia names for behavioral health crises. The state crisis line sends you to a center that has space.

Deaf ServicesService

DBHDD's deaf services help people who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind get ASL interpreters and accommodations. DBHDD also pays for a residential substance use treatment program for deaf and hard of hearing people, run by Caring Works, Inc. Staff are listed for each of six regions.

Developmental disability servicesProgram

DBHDD supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through waiver services called NOW and COMP. People apply through a regional field office or a paper form. Those who apply go on a planning list, and a needs assessment decides who moves into services.

DUI Intervention Program provider searchService

DBHDD runs a Georgia DUI Intervention Program website where people can search for approved clinical evaluators and treatment providers for DUI offenders.
