Recovery support centers offer peer-led, non-clinical support and activities for people and families recovering from substance use. Treatment clinics use medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. A state online map shows both.

Apply for developmental disability waiver services (NOW and COMP)Program

People with intellectual or developmental disabilities can apply for NOW and COMP waivers through their regional field office. People wait on a planning list, and a needs assessment decides who moves into services.

Behavioral Health ServicesService

The state oversees mental health and substance use services given by community providers across Georgia. Providers are grouped in three tiers, from community service boards to specialty providers.

Call or text 988Service

The state's website tells people in emotional distress to call or text 988. It connects you to crisis help for mental health, substance use, or developmental disability issues, and to local outpatient providers.

Community Integration HomesProgram

These are group residences, the first step in the state's transitional housing for adults leaving forensic treatment. Residents get recovery services and a primary clinician or case manager. Homes are in Atlanta, Stone Mountain, Douglasville and other cities.

Constituent ServicesService

The Office of Constituent Services answers questions, takes complaints and compliments, and helps people get DBHDD services. You can reach it by phone, mail, fax or online form.

Crisis stabilization and behavioral health crisis centersService

These are the emergency drop-off centers for mental health and substance use crises. The crisis line directs you to a center that has room.

Deaf Services (ASL and communication access)Service

DBHDD helps arrange ASL interpreters and other accommodations for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind. Each region has an interpreter and a communication assessor.
