Georgia Parent Mentor Partnership (GaPMP)Program

Parent mentors work with families of students who get special education. They help home and school talk and work together. Each school district hires its own mentor, and a state list shows mentors by county.

This program helps homeless children and youth with school so they can enroll, attend, and do well. It is for children, teens, and students who do not have a stable home.

Mediation and Formal ComplaintsService

Families can ask for mediation or file a formal complaint when they disagree with a school system about a student's special education. Mediation is voluntary, private and free.

The state office gives schools, teachers and families support so students with disabilities can get special education and related services. It works with local school districts on this.
