Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC)Service

ADRC is a team of partner groups that give information, counseling and referrals about long-term support services. It helps older people, people with disabilities, families, caregivers and professionals in all 159 Georgia counties.

Elderly Legal Assistance Program (ELAP)Service

ELAP gives free civil legal help to Georgians age 60 and older through local law firms. It does not take criminal cases.

Georgia SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program)Service

Certified counselors help people with Medicare understand their plan choices, enroll, review bills and notices, and apply for programs that lower costs. The help is free and not tied to any insurance company.

Home and Community Based Services (non-Medicaid)Program

Services that help older Georgians stay safely in their homes, such as meals, homemaker help, personal care, chore help, respite and adult day services. They are run through local Area Agencies on Aging, and availability depends on your region.

Kinship Care support for relatives raising childrenService

Georgia has a kinship care website with information, resources and support for relatives raising children. Area Agencies on Aging offer support groups and can refer you to services.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman ProgramService

Ombudsmen work for people living in nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted living and similar facilities. They look into problems and complaints and speak up for residents' rights.

Volunteer with an Area Agency on AgingProgram

You can volunteer with a local Area Agency on Aging to teach the community, deliver a meal or visit with older adults. Ask for the volunteer coordinator.
