Chaplaincy and pastoral careService

DJJ chaplains give youth and staff spiritual guidance, crisis support and religious education. Staff also protect each person's right to practice their faith.

Connections Graduate ProgramProgram

Youth who earn a high school diploma or GED can receive re-entry, work skills, and post-secondary planning support.

DJJ School System (high school diploma)Program

DJJ runs its own school district for youth in its custody. Youth can earn a high school diploma.

DJJ Victim ServicesService

DJJ's Office of Victim Services helps victims of crime understand the juvenile justice process. It can notify victims of releases and help with compensation applications and restitution information.

Georgia Preparatory AcademyProgram

DJJ provides middle and high school education through Georgia Preparatory Academy campuses at RYDC and YDC locations.

Mental health screening and treatmentService

Each youth is screened soon after arriving at a DJJ facility. Some are then assessed more fully and can get counseling and other treatment.

Pathway to Success GEDProgram

Eligible students can receive GED preparation and take official GED tests through DJJ staff.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and SupportsProgram

The DJJ school system teaches clear behavior rules. Youth earn "bucks" for good behavior and can spend them on school events.
