Admission and Temporary Observation ServicesService

This is the hospital's entry point. Staff assess people sent for voluntary or involuntary hospital stays. The Temporary Observation Area adds extra observation time and urgent care for people in crisis with severe psychiatric symptoms.

Adult Mental Health ProgramProgram

Hospital care for adults with serious mental illness. It has three inpatient units with 114 beds in all. The goal is to stabilize people and help them function better.

Dental ClinicService

The hospital's dental clinic treats patients staying at the hospital and also sees outpatients. Outpatient care is for people with developmental disabilities from eight metro Atlanta counties.

Forensic Services ProgramProgram

Secure hospital care for adults a court has found not able to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity. It has three medium-secure units with 124 beds. Admission is through the court system and there is a long wait.

Patient Advocate and Human Rights & Ethics CommitteeService

Patients, families and outside agencies can send compliments or concerns to the hospital's Patient Advocate. A Human Rights & Ethics Committee works to make sure patients' rights are respected during their stay.
