Developmental, Educational and Behavioral ScreeningService

Social workers screen grandchildren. Children under 5 get a developmental screening, and older children are checked for behavior and school challenges. Children who may have delays are referred to Emory for a full evaluation.

Health Care Home VisitsService

Nurses talk with families about health and give health education. They refer people to primary care, dental, vision and hearing services and medication help.

Holiday Family AdoptionsProgram

Donors, both people and companies, are matched with enrolled families to help give holiday gifts to grandchildren and grandparents.

Monthly Support GroupsService

Grandparents meet each month, in person or online. They learn about local resources, share tips, learn parenting ideas and meet others in the same situation. They can keep coming after the first year.

One-Year Intervention ServicesProgram

Social workers and nurses support grandparent-led families for one year. They visit at home, help with parenting, and connect families to community help.

Social Work Home VisitsService

A social worker visits each month to give parenting advice. They help make a family care plan and refer families to help such as TANF, daycare, legal aid, food, mental health care and housing.

Tutoring SupportService

School-aged grandchildren in the program can get tutoring, based on how much help they need.

Youth ServicesProgram

Children ages 8 and older can take part in outings, workshops, job readiness help and college preparation. There is also an annual College Day at Georgia State University.
