Blind and Low Vision Field ServicesService

Gives Georgians who are blind or have low vision the usual job services plus vision loss counseling. Staff are in GVRA offices around the state.

Disability Adjudication ServicesService

Works with Social Security to decide disability claims for Georgians who apply for SSDI or SSI. You do not apply here. You apply with Social Security, and this office makes the medical and legal decision.

Independent Living ServicesProgram

GVRA oversees federal money for Centers for Independent Living around Georgia. These centers offer skills training, peer counseling, advocacy, and help moving out of nursing homes or institutions.

Older Blind / Project IndependenceProgram

A federally funded program that helps people age 55 or older who are blind or have low vision learn new ways to do daily tasks and stay active in their families and communities. Local partner agencies provide the services.

Sensory ServicesProgram

Helps people who are blind, have low vision, are Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing build skills for independent living and work. Programs include blind and low vision field services and Project Independence for older adults.

Services for EmployersService

Helps businesses hire people with disabilities. Offers include screening job candidates, no-cost tryouts, pay help while training a new hire, and a job coach.

Supported EmploymentProgram

GVRA lists supported and customized employment among its job services for people with disabilities. It is part of the Vocational Rehabilitation program.
