Blind and Low Vision Field ServicesService

Job-focused help for Georgians who are blind or have low vision. Specially trained staff work in GVRA offices, and services include mobility training, braille, and access technology training.

Employment Services and Business ServicesService

Helps GVRA clients explore their skills, find a job, write a resume, get ready for interviews, and keep the job. GVRA also works with employers to hire people with disabilities.

Independent Living ServicesService

Connects people with disabilities to Centers for Independent Living. These centers offer training, coaching, peer support, and other help to live on your own. There is a center in Atlanta called disABILITY Link.

Intake and CounselingService

This is the first step to get help from GVRA. You send a referral online or call, then a counselor is assigned to meet with you and find out if you can get services.

Job Site Assessment and AccommodationsService

If you have a disability, a specialist can look at your workplace and recommend changes, like modifications to your home, vehicle, or worksite, so you can do your job. This helps you prepare for, get, keep, or advance in a job.

Older Blind / Project IndependenceProgram

Helps people age 55 and older who are blind or have low vision learn new ways to do daily tasks and stay active in family and community life. Local centers and agencies provide the services.

Sensory ServicesService

GVRA services for people who are blind, have low vision, are Deaf, are DeafBlind, or are hard of hearing. The goal is to build skills for a full, independent life.

Social Security Disability Benefits Determinations (DAS)Service

Disability Adjudication Services works with Social Security to decide disability claims for Georgians. You apply with Social Security, not GVRA, and questions go to the DAS phone line.
