Paws For Life matches a puppy or young dog with a person who has a disability, then trains the dog and the person together. Dogs can be trained for autism, mobility, seizure, psychiatric, hearing, medical and diabetic needs. The group stays in touch for the dog's whole life.

Educational Talks (ADA, First Aid, Disaster Relief)Service

Through its Animal Awareness program, the group gives talks about animal topics. Topics include disaster relief, first aid and ADA rules for service dogs. The talks are meant for the public, employers, merchants, emergency workers and other groups. The website also has an ADA guide for service dog handlers.

Puppy Raising and Foster FamiliesProgram

Families can raise or foster a future service dog puppy at home. Puppy raising is described as lasting 12 to 16 months and often needs a fenced yard. People must apply, give references and do an interview.

Service Dogs for Veterans & First RespondersProgram

This is the group's veterans program. It trains psychiatric and PTSD service dogs, and neurological and mobility assistance dogs, for veterans. Mobility tasks include picking up dropped items, pulling wheelchairs and opening doors.

Therapy and facility dog trainingProgram

The group trains dogs and their handlers to be therapy dogs that visit places like nursing homes and hospitals. It also trains animal-assisted therapy dogs that work with therapists, and facility dogs for court rooms and legal offices. Therapy teams register through Pet Partners of Cobb County.

Therapy Animal Teams (Pet Partners of Cobb County)Program

Volunteer handler and animal teams register with Pet Partners of Cobb County to visit people who need comfort. Teams currently visit places like Atlanta International Airport, Emory University, libraries, hospice and high schools. The group also sets up Walk with Me and Read with Me dates.
