Adopt A WarriorProgram

A monthly giving program where donors support people living with sickle cell disease. Gifts go toward needs like rides to appointments, groceries, utilities, rent help, and caregiver breaks.

Advocacy and Sickle Cell Day at the CapitolProgram

SCFG follows state and federal laws that affect people with sickle cell disease and explains them. It gives advice on speaking with lawmakers and takes part in events such as Sickle Cell Day at the Capitol.

Camp New LightProgram

A yearly week-long summer camp for kids and teens with sickle cell disease. Doctors and nurses supervise, and kids enjoy regular camp fun while building coping skills and confidence.

Community Health Workers and Transition SupportProgram

Trained, certified community health workers help people with sickle cell disease make a care plan, find doctors, get to appointments, and apply for benefits like Medicaid and SNAP. They also help teens and young adults move from children's doctors to adult care.

Genetic Counseling and Newborn Screening Follow-UpService

Working with Georgia's Newborn Screening Program, SCFG tells parents when a newborn's test shows abnormal hemoglobin. Certified counselors explain what the results mean and offer family testing and follow-up counseling.

Health Education Workshops and Annual SymposiumProgram

Health educators lead workshops for children, adults, and health care providers on wellness, family planning, genetic counseling, and sickle cell. SCFG also holds a yearly symposium with researchers, lawmakers, health professionals, patients, and families.

Health Fair Participation and Community EducationService

SCFG staffs booths at health fairs and community events to teach about sickle cell disease and trait. Groups can invite them to their event, and testing may be available.

Holiday Help for FamiliesProgram

With community partners, SCFG gives food baskets, school supplies, and toys at Christmas to families in need or to children with sickle cell disease who are in the hospital.
